Some of you may be familiar with the nursery rhyme, regarding the Old Lady who lived in a Shoe. To writ:
"There was an old lady who lived in a shoe
Who had so many children she didn't know what to do,
So she gave them some broth and she gave them some bread,
And spanked them all soundly and sent them to bed. "
Granted, we do not have "so many children" that we "don't know what to do."
And granted, the rhyme shows a noticable lack of justice, in punishing all children equally, regardless of the severity of the offense, and even regardless of the fact that some of them may not have commited punishable offenses.
Nevertheless, there are some days when that makes perfect sense.
