Is "Haunch" the right word?

I have had Moose meat myself, when my Uncle Christian shot a moose in Maine when I was in the third grade. I took moose meat sandwiches to school, and was quite popular. A bit stringy, as I recall, though admitedly, my memory is a bit clouded from third grade.
